Karla Taylor

5th Grade Teacher

Karla grew up in a suburb of Nashville, TN, located in the Gallatin/Hendersonville area. She graduated from The University of TN Knoxville (B.A. Psychology) and Tennessee State University (M. Ed Curriculum & Instruction). She holds an Iowa Teaching License (K–6) and TESOL certification. Karla has experience spanning from being a Research Marketing Analyst to whole classroom K–12 educator, literacy tutor, and ESL educator.

In her early 30’s, Karla gave her life to Christ. Since then, Karla has a desire to grow and tell others about Jesus. Her favorite passage is Philippians 4:6-8; it is a constant reminder to run to Christ in prayer during times of anxiety and difficulty while choosing to hold on to those things that are true.

Karla has been married to her husband, Jason, since 2003. They have been members of Coram Deo Bible Church since 2016. Karla serves in Women's Ministry, Children's Ministry, the Wedding Ministry, and the Marriage Ministry. Karla and Jason have two kids, Cohen and Melanie, and two dogs. As a family, they love Friday family nights, sitting around a campfire, riding roller coasters, and traveling. Outside of teaching, Karla loves everything Dachshund, dancing, watching movies, the beach, and the spa. She is so thankful for the opportunity to teach at CDA and lead and mentor youth academically and spiritually in a loving and safe environment.

Karla currently serves as the 5th Grade Teacher at Coram Deo Academy.
