Shane Sikkema

Worship Leader

Shane grew up 45 minutes north of the Quad Cities in Fulton, Illinois. His early years were filled with an abundance of baseball, fishing, music, and church activities. After graduating from Fulton High School in the year 2000, he went off to college to study graphic design. During this time, he also began touring the Midwest with a pop-punk band and unfortunately drifted away from the church. Toward the end of his undergrad, Shane met his wife, Kelly, and the two began attending a church outside of Chicago. After responding to a challenge by their pastor to complete a Bible reading plan, Shane found in the pages of Scripture a growing conviction of his need for a Savior. In the fall of 2004, he repented and put his faith in Jesus Christ. Shane and Kelly were baptized soon after and quickly began serving in their church.

Shortly after his conversion, Shane also began to sense that God was calling him into vocational ministry. He left his career as a graphic designer and in December of 2010 completed a Master of Divinity Degree from Lincoln Christian Seminary with a dual emphasis in Worship and Preaching. Following seminary, Shane served as the Worship and Young Adults Pastor for a large church in the Quad Cities. In 2013, God called Shane and his family to move to Boston, Massachusetts where he served as the Executive Discipleship Pastor for a new church plant near Fenway Park. After 10 exciting years of urban ministry in Boston, God brought the Sikkema family back to Bettendorf with a growing passion to see the Gospel advance in the Quad Cities. Shane joined the Coram Deo staff in January of 2025.

Shane and his wife, Kelly, live in Bettendorf and have been happily married since 2005. Their older son, Owen, was born in 2011, and their daughter, Nora, joined them in 2015.
