Summary

This year for Summer Camp our theme is Forged. We will be diving into the doctrine of sanctification and see how God works to forge believers into blameless worshippers for His glory. Session one will revolve around the dangers of sin and the sanctifying efforts of God to shape us into new vessels for His use. Session two will look into the Church’s role in helping sanctify believers through unity and togetherness. Session three will express how God guarantees sanctification in the life of a believer based on His promises. Then lastly, session four will offer hope and encouragement to the students as they look forward to their eternal reward in Christ. We hope to see your student there!

Workshops: Workshops are designed for students to better grow in a particular area of the Christian life. As a ministry we have found that students learn and succeed in different teaching environments, and workshops offer a more informal setting for students to engage with God’s Word. This year we will have four different workshops for the students to choose from and participate in. There will be two workshops offered Tuesday to Thursday:

  • Tuesday: Christian Repentance and How to Fix Your Boring Prayer Life
  • Wednesday: Christian Repentance and What is Discipleship?
  • Thursday: Christian Repentance and I Hear Dead People

Christian Repentance: In our lives as Christians, we often hear the word repentance thrown around a lot, but we may not know what it means to walk in repentance as believers. This workshop will help you understand what Christian repentance is and how to practice it in your everyday life.

I Hear Dead People: In Hebrews 11:4 we hear about Abel that “through his faith, though he died, he still speaks.” God has provided us many lessons of what it should (and should not) look like to follow him. In this workshop we will discuss how, through the study of history and biographies, we can learn these from the past, grow in Godliness in the present, and remain steadfast in the faith until eternity future.

How to Fix Your Boring Prayer Life: God commands all of His children to pray, so why do we struggle so much to do it? In this workshop, we’ll take a look at one of the main causes of a slothful prayer life, combat it with a simple yet effective method of praying, and provide practical ways of applying it to our lives.

What is Discipleship? If Jesus commanded it, we should do it. In this workshop we will be looking at how we should count the cost of being a disciple, determine how intentional we should be in discipling others, and survey how we as disciple can create other disciples who create disciples.
