In a world filled with confusion about sexuality and gender, Dr. Yuan seeks to provide a Christ-centered understanding of this subject that is rooted in the gospel and full of grace and biblical truth. Dr. Yuan’s expertise is uniquely informed by his personal experiences, advanced health sciences studies, and rigorous theological education. Conference attendees will be inspired to move beyond societal labels of sexual identity, encouraging full surrender to Christ and a life of holy sexuality.

Meet the Speaker
Dr. Christopher Yuan
Dr. Christopher Yuan is an internationally known speaker, author, and voice on biblical sexuality. His award-winning book, "Holy Sexuality and the Gospel," was named 2020 Resource of the Year by Outreach Magazine. He calls Christians to find their identity in Christ—not sexuality—and to live out holy sexuality: chastity in singleness and faithfulness in marriage.
A Moody Bible Institute graduate (2005), Dr. Yuan earned a Master’s in Biblical Exegesis (2007) and a Doctor of Ministry (2014). He taught at Moody for over a decade, and his ministry now spans five continents.
He also created The Holy Sexuality Project—a groundbreaking video series helping parents and grandparents disciple teens on biblical sexuality.
His mother, Angela Yuan, endured a broken but redeemed marriage and years of praying for prodigal sons. Through pain and perseverance, God taught her to trust His power to change the impossible and seek daily renewal in Christ.
Main Sessions
Over the course of the conference, we will hear three main session teachings from Dr. Yuan:
Session 1:
Testimony & Sexual Identity
One of the most important things missed when engaging with our LGB friends is how sexuality has become the core of our being. “Being gay” means “This is who I am.” But if this is incorrect, how does the Bible communicate who we are? Dr. Yuan articulates the correct understanding of personhood through the lens of Scripture—particularly, the image of God and the doctrine of sin—and explains the consequences of an incorrect understanding of who we are.
Session 2:
Text & Hermeneutics
There are six passages in Scripture which touch on the issue of homosexuality and condemn same-sex relationships. And yet some claim they do not. So what does the Bible really say? With a deep understanding of Hebrew, Greek, contextual issues, and biblical exegesis, Dr. Yuan presents and analyzes the gay-affirming interpretations of these Old Testament and New Testament passages with clarity and compassion.
Session 3:
Holy Sexuality & the Gospel + Q&A
We all know someone who identifies as gay, lesbian, or bisexual. How can Christians better share Jesus with our loved ones and friends in the LGB community? What have we gotten wrong? How can we improve? Without any compromise of truth or grace, Dr. Yuan combines his life experiences and his theological and biblical language background to teach a fully gospel-centric approach. This will help us to think right (orthodoxy) before doing right (orthopraxy). A Q&A with Dr. Yuan will follow.
Breakouts
One breakout session will be offered during the conference. There are two options available:
Option 1:
Homosexuality: Nature or Nurture
with Dr. Christopher Yuan
Are there really “root causes” of homosexuality? Are people born gay? There are two camps: nature (biological) and nurture (environmental). Both claim to be right with science to back them up. With his background in the health sciences, Dr. Yuan reviews the scientific studies related to etiology of sexual orientation. But more importantly, he helps to show how causation and sexuality are better understood in light of biblical anthropology.
Option 2:
Ordinary Parents, Extraordinary Father: When Prodigals Break Our Hearts
with Angela & Leon Yuan via Video
Parents often have nowhere to turn when prodigals break their hearts. How can they help their child? And what will help parents to persevere? Having survived the difficult years with their own prodigal son, Leon and Angela Yuan have learned from their own personal experience and will share practical steps on what helped them through the prodigal years—which can benefit any parent of any child of any age.

High School & College Students Holy Sexuality Q&A with Dr. Christopher Yuan
Join us for an honest and engaging Q&A with Dr. Christopher Yuan as he explores the topic "Sex, Gender, and the Image of God." Designed specifically for high school and college students, this interactive session is an opportunity to ask thoughtful questions about faith, identity, sexuality, and following Jesus in today's culture.

Sunday Worship Services with Teaching by Dr. Christopher Yuan
Join us during services on Sunday, September 20 as Dr. Christopher Yuan and his parents, Dr. Leon (via video) and Angela, share their family testimony of redemption and grace. Christopher will finish by preaching on holy sexuality. The Yuan's amazing story—told from the perspectives of father, mother, and son—offers encouragement and hope for anyone who was or has a prodigal.
